Priorities

  • To improve the Christian spiritual values taught in Baptist schools by encouraging the teachers and children to prioritise Christ and deliver a Christ –centred curriculum. In conjunction with New Hope International, Australia, Effective Teaching Workshops are delivered in Kampala annually. The Education Department is working with partners and the Ministry of Education and Sports to facilitate these workshops across Uganda in 2012. http://www.newhopeinternational.net/
  • School inspection - Teaching, learning and the general school administration and environment need to be regularly inspected to ensure compliance with the set standards. Inspection reports can then be submitted to the responsible officers in government and subsequently followed up to ensure improvement. Following a successful implementation of an inspection project in Kasese, Wakiso is the next association to benefit.
  • Schools connect - Facilitate the links formed between Ugandan schools and schools in other countries to build relationships and share experiences. Kirugaluga Baptist Church is linked with Swalecliffe Primary School in Kent, UK. Kayunga Baptist School is linked with Northcross Christian School in New South Wales, Australia. http://swalecliffeprimary.org/, http://www.northcross.nsw.edu.au/
  • Offering Education Consultation to the Community Partnership Programme (CPP) Department e.g. Kiswa Community Development Project.
  • Strengthening the Baptist Schools through the delivery of Curriculum and Management/Accounting Workshops.
